Abstract

In this presentation, we highlight the results of IDC Manufacturing Insights' 2012 supply chain survey of 355 manufacturers in the United States, including

  • Primary focus of manufacturers' supply chains - cost, service, or product quality
  • Manufacturers' Top 3 supply chain priorities and how they expect to address those priorities
  • New technology that manufacturers identify as important to their supply chains
  • IT's performance in supporting the supply chain

We can segment our data further based on value chain and industry segment within manufacturing, company size, and the level of outsourcing. We expect manufacturers to use this data to understand how they compare to their peers in their supply chain priorities and activities, identify potential IT investments, and ensure alignment between IT and the business.
