Analyst ProfileDr. Christopher Holmes is the Director for IDC Manufacturing Insights – International.Based in Singapore, Dr. Holmes is a well-respected analyst with over 20 years of experience in helping manufacturers improve their processes, ranging from running shop floor improvement programs to managing product development. He has a wide range of practical experience across industries and is responsible for driving the overall direction of the IDC Manufacturing Insights practice in Asia/Pacific and Europe. Prior to this, Dr. Holmes was leading the IDC Manufacturing Insights practice in Asia/Pacific. Dr. Holmes is a frequent keynote speaker at industry events, sharing his insight and research with the manufacturing industry. He lectures regularly at a local University on Technoloqanning and R&D Management, specializing in the theory and application of Technology Roadmapping, which was developed in his previous role, while working for the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A-Star) in Singapore. Before relocating to Singapore, he worked in the aerospace sector in the UK. Dr. Holmes holds a Doctor of Engineering (EngD) degree from Warwick University, UK. This was completed while he was working in the industry and as part of the Warwick Manufacturing Group. He also holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the University of Glamorgan, UK and a Bachelor of Science degree from The City of Birmingham Polytechnic, UK.
