Analyst ProfileWilliam Lee is the Senior Research Manager for IDC Manufacturing Insights Asia/Pacific, based in Singapore. In his role, William is responsible for analyzing manufacturing best practices through the use of IT, the priorities and deployment strategies of manufacturing firms, and emerging ICT trends and opportunities in the sector. William also provides in-depth analysis and custom research and consulting services to manufacturers, as well as ICT vendors engaged in the provision of products and services to the sector.William has over 10 years of experience in the field of manufacturing and operations management. He has been involved in numerous operations and business management roles, providing consultation, training, and facilitation and management services to manufacturing firms. William's areas of expertise include System Modeling and Analysis; Capacity Planning and Modeling; Advanced Planning & Scheduling; Facility Layout; Supply Chain & Network Planning and Design; Business Process Management; Operations Strategies Consultation and Implementation like Lean Manufacturing; and, Simulation Modeling and Analysis for operational performance improvement. Prior to joining IDC, William was the lead for the operations innovation initiative at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. Here, he was responsible for driving the adoption of manufacturing best practices and its enabling technologies to help manufacturing organizations achieve world-class performance. William holds a Doctor of Engineering (EngD) degree from Cranfield University, UK. This was completed during his working stint at the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology.
